Elli Schmeltekopf, MS, LPC, SEP

Licensed Professional Counselor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

About Elli

Elli is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose training really began well after her master’s degree was complete. She knew she would never be satisfied personally or professionally if the goal was only coping. She knew that the goal had to be real, deep and lasting change. Elli likes to work at the heart and core of the issue.

She began trauma resolution training through Somatic Experiencing (SE) in 2006. After completing that three-year training and learning about regulation of the nervous system and recovery from trauma, Elli assisted at SE trainings in Charlotte and then coordinated the trainings in Asheville in 2010-2011. She will be coordinating the next round of trainings in Asheville beginning in 2014.

With a firm grasp on how to work with trauma, Elli went to the next layer – attachment. She studied with Diane Poole Heller, Ph.D. in a two-year cutting edge program for working with the core patterns in relationships. This program is designed to support people in returning to their original blueprint for secure attachment regardless of what adaptations were developed earlier in life.

Then Elli began working with Ray Castellino, DC, RPP, RPE, RCST, specialist in all things pre/peri-natal. Ray’s work was the missing link for Elli’s framework to come together. She learned about the importance of early imprints and the essential skills of differentiating past from present. From Ray she also learned about the ancestral imprints that come to each of us from the generations before and must also be differentiated.

The intention for Elli has always been personal. Her early life was tragic and then followed by years of carrying out the tragedy in her heart and body even though it was no longer  happening in her surroundings. Through her courage, perseverance and commitment to her own freedom she has developed the capacity to sit with others and stay present with them wherever they need to go. So often the healing occurs simply in being seen by someone that can stay present with us in our deepest and most fearful places.

Her work comes from a simple place of trust; trusting in the wisdom of each client’s own knowing and trusting in the wisdom of the Divine that guides all healing.

Elli is looking forward to learning more about the importance of imprints from pregnancy, birth, ancestors, etc in Ray’s 3-year Foundation Training beginning in 2013. She has a 22-year-old son, a recent graduate of UNCA, who she is very proud of. Elli is enjoying a new relationship with a strong, caring man who has done many of the same trainings. They have an intention to tease out the imprints so they can be present with each other from their blueprints as loving, secure, connected beings.

“I'd been in counseling for 30 years and never found anyone as knowledgeable as Elli about my condition. Elli has skills to understand my life so much deeper than anyone I've ever known. Her compassion and guidance have helped me to heal the deepest mentally, emotionally and physically; which is a deep relief.” Client

If a patient comes to me and it is clear that unresolved trauma is compromising their ability to heal, Elli is the person I refer them to. Her ability to help someone to sit with difficult patterns and to transform them is nothing short of miraculous.” Jessica Godino, Acupuncturist, Four Flames Healing
